What the Hell are Float Tanks?
We’ll give you a hint: you get in them naked, it’s almost impossible to keep track of time when you’re in one and they were invented by a guy who thought he could communicate with dolphins. If you want to know more, come hear Ashkahn and Graham tell you all about them.

These limits are further beliefs to be transcended. In the mind, there are no limits.” – John C. Lilly. There are few people in this world who have accomplished as much as Dr. John Lilly. From studying electrical stimulation of the brain, to pioneering modern dolphin research, to doing government funded LSD research, to inventing the floatation tank, John Lilly has contributed greatly to the growth of human knowledge. Ashkahn Jahromi & Graham Talley
Ashkahn and Graham run FloatOn (one of the largest float aka sensory deprivation tank centers in the world), direct Float Tank Solutions and organize the National Float Conference. If you’ve never heard of float tanks, they’re basically these large capsules that are filled with 10 inches of water and 900 pounds of Epsom salt. The salt makes the water so dense that when you hop in, you float right on top of the water, putting you in a close to 0-gravity experience. The water is heated to your skin temperature so you can’t feel the difference between the air and the water, making it feel even more like you’re floating in outer space. The tanks are also soundproof and completely dark. No light, no sound, no touch, no gravity. Just pure nothing. Graham and Ashkahn lead weird lives and have a lot of weird stories as a result. Come hear them talk about float tanks, dolphins, LSD and aliens.
