AURA 2013 Featuring Yoga on Saturday and Sunday!
Aura Music Festival's resident yoga teacher, Kelly Searcy, is returning again in 2013 with even more funky, fun, peaceful, and inspiring classes! Kelly has been practicing yoga since the age of 13, when diagnosed with severe scoliosis.Though she started yoga for the physical benefits, it triggered a fiery curiosity for the spiritual and ethereal elements. After a few years of independent study and practice, Kelly interned at a yoga studio in Delray Beach and participated in a 200-hour Teacher Training. Moving to Miami in January 2009, she began working for Green Monkey yoga studios as scheduling manager and completed another 200-hour teacher training with Paul Toliuszis. Currently Kelly is independently taking workshops and practicing AcroYoga, BodyTalk, and yoga asana. In her free time, Kelly combines her love of the music scene with yoga and practices the art of poi spinning LED lights and fire. Through her joyful spirit, Kelly spreads the message that yoga is accessible to everyone, no matter the age, religion, or physical condition. Her classes at Aura are always a highlight of he weekend, and this year she's excited to expand the yoga and spiritual classes at the festival!
About The Workshops
AURA's resident yoga teacher, Kelly Searcy, returns again with even more funky, fun, peaceful and inspiring classes. This year, she'll expand the Yoga and Spiritual Practices Program with multiple classes and workshops each day including:
- Shake your Asana Class: Loosen up before you break it down- come practice yoga with Kelly and Joaquin before you hit the stages. Featuring live music or DJ, This hour-long yoga experience is sure to leave you centered, open, and energized for the rest of your weekend. The class is suitable for all levels and will focus on our connection to the cosmic consciousness and all that IS, with chakra opening poses, breathing techniques, and a few really fun partner poses too. Crazy and colorful attire is encouraged, as long as you can move in it! Expand your mind and join us at 10:30 Saturday AND Sunday morning....Trust us, its worth waking up for! Please bring a mat or towel.
- "It Takes Two" Thai Massage and AcroYoga Class: The beauty of nature, energy of music, and power of healing touch combine for a very special class guided by Joaquin and Kelly. We'll warm up and learn to trust each other with partner and group exercises, leading into simple therapeutic AcroYoga poses that allow us to release tension in the neck and back, bring out our inner child, and FLY! Afterwards we'll pair up and learn techniques from Thai massage that will completely relax your over-danced muscles (and be great moves to share with your friends). All that's needed is an open mind and curious heart! Bring a mat or towel and wear clothes that you can move easily in...save the glitter and spandex for later. For more info check out acroyoga.org
- "Siesta Savasana" 30 minute guided meditation and relaxation: The AMF yoga instructor team knows how tough it is to get sleep during all the great sets of the weekend, so we are offering a Siesta Savasana class each day to help you rest and rejuvenate. Allow us to guide you through visualization, sacred chant, and incredible aromatherapy to a place of complete stillness. Just a few minutes of this kind of relaxation is worth hours of sleep, so come join us and let's send the peace and love out to all of the festival. It may be the best part of your day!
- Did you know that we'll also be offering mini classes, meditations, and gatherings during the weekend? Check out the chalkboards at the information tent and yoga field to see the daily offerings presented by the yoga team and Aura community... Chakra balancing, didgeridoo healing, group chant, sacred space creation, and more! We are here to support conscious community at the festival and can't wait to connect with you.
